The artists at 38 Studios are getting ready to launch our site www.MangyPirates.com. The idea of MangyPirates is to build our skills and have a blast doing exercises that we can actually show people. Our first challenge was a monster of sorts, a kind of pocket monster comp. I built this new yellow fella for our first exercise. There was no limit on the polygons or texture sizes we could use or that it even had to be 3D. I have been wanting to get more into animation so I decided to make a character I could have fun rigging and playing around with. The model stands around 2700 tris and has a 512 normal and a 512 diffuse.

Finally updated my site after months of neglect. New look for a new job, well sorta new. I have been working at 38 Studios, formerly Green Monster Games, for about 7 months now. Its been quite possibly the greatest experience I have had in games to date. Working with R.A. Salvatore, Todd McFarlane, and Curt Schilling is nothing short of amazing. Ohh and Zbrush 3 rules =)

I'm currently working as a Character Lead at 38 Studios just outside of Boston MA. I have been working professionally as a game artist for 8 years and my main focus has always been character art. In my early teens I started messing around with 3d Studio Dos 4 and my life was changed forever. I spent most of my high school days learning anything I could about 3D and making games. 13 years later I am still doing what I love and thankful for it every day. |
